Keeping You Safe is #1

At Hickory Hollow Farm, the health and safety of all parties – guests, wranglers, and horses – has always been our top priority.  During this time of concern with COVID-19, we are taking even more precautions. Ensuring that you are still able to enjoy the same entertaining and educational experience, while also being certain you can do so safely.  We have implemented
extra measures to reduce risk of illness for our guests and wranglers.

Additional Sanitizing

We have always kept our tack and other equipment clean and in top shape. Our extra safety measures now include cleaning and sanitizing saddles, bridles, helmets and water carriers before and after every ride. We also clean and sanitize the equipment used on our Licensed Battlefield Guide rides. Each transmitter, earpiece and lanyard is cleaned and sanitized after every use. We use only sanitizing wipes and sprays with the approved level of alcohol to disinfect as thoroughly as possible. We also have soap and water available so you can wash your hands before and after your ride.

Keeping a Safe Distance

As we ride the trails across the battlefield, we ride single file so recommended social distancing can be maintained.  Up on your horse, you will be at least 6 feet apart at all times.  As you mount and dismount before and after your ride, our staff will wear face masks to better protect you when closer together.  To protect our staff, we request that you also wear a face mask while you’re on the ground and while mounting and dismounting.

We Take Everyone’s Health Seriously

All Licensed Battlefield Guides, staff and guests are asked the following screening questions daily:
Have you been out of the country in the past 14 days?
Have you come into contact with anyone experience Covid-19 like symptoms in the past 14 days?
Are you experiencing Covid-19 like symptoms?
Have you had a daily temperature reading of 100.4 or greater? (We request that you take your temperature on the day you ride with us.)
If you answer yes, have an elevated temperature or any other symptoms of illness, we ask that you reschedule your ride.  We will work with you to reschedule at your convenience.
Our staff and Licensed Battlefield Guides take their temperatures daily and will only come to work if they have a temperature within normal range and no symptoms of illness.

Reducing Your Risk After Your Ride

At the time of your ride, we will confirm your phone number and state of residence so that we can contact you in case any of our staff becomes ill within 48 hours after your ride.  We also ask that you contact us if anyone in your group becomes ill within 48 hours after your ride.  That way we can isolate anyone who worked that day and help reduce the spread of illness.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
