Reviews from Customers after Horseback Riding with us on the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Hi Pam
Caroline and I wanted to tell you that we had an absolutely wonderful time today. By far, this was one of best things we've ever done on vacation. I loved Viggo. At first I thought I was too scared to go but then I saw that little boy crying....  In 10 minutes I was in love with my horse. Terry was wonderful too!  Poor thing- I talked her ear off. What an amazing way to see the battlefields. Let me know where I should leave a review. I'm happy to do it!

The staff of Hickory Hollow Farms, our Certified Battlefield Guide, and the well behaved horses provided an excellent way to immerse our children in the historical events of the Gettysburg Battlefield. I need to mention that the weather was perfect too! The horseback riding tour along with our battlefield guide’s vast history knowledge made it the best of all of the tours we took over our four day vacation in Gettysburg. In fact, we have never seen our teens so attentive to a history lesson. Our 17 year old was so captivated by the guide’s portrayal of the events that he forgot he was afraid of horses! It is our opinion that this was the best way one can really envision the field of Pickett's Charge as the soldier's eye viewed it atop a horse as they made their way from Seminary Ridge to their meeting with destiny. We will highly recommend Hickory Hollow Farms Battlefield tour to our family, friends, and acquaintances!
We will return for another tour with you!!
Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!

Kate and I wanted to say thank you very much for the tour on SundayOctober 23. It was an amazing time and one of the best things I have done in my life! Absolutely amazing! Great sights and great horses! What an excellent way to end a weekend!
We plan to come back and take the longer tour some time! Also, thank you for the good luck wishes on my path to the olympics.

 Pam, This is Heather Obadina.
My parents and I were on your horseback tour yesterday. I just wanted to say that I am so glad we booked with you! We really enjoyed your personality and felt you added much to the experience. We plan to make it to Gettysburgh every year or two, and we will certainly book with you.
 Thanks for the nice time!
 Best, Heather

Pam, Just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful ride with you and guide Andi the last week in August. We had a great time and learned a lot of battlefield history… experiencing the battlefield from horseback is an amazing experience. I’ve ridden in many places and this was one ride that I will never forget. I could feel the history.
Thank you for a great experience.

Pam,
I did not get to tell you how much I enjoyed the ride and tour today .When I was going to tell you  were already busy helping the others dismount and taking care of them .You all were great. I was impressed how you built and kept the business growing.
In the future I hope to return with my son or my family and if we do will certainly do this again
I left some gratitude with Terry to be shared...and am sure she did for the 3 of you.
Best of luck in the future..and keep the professional and friendly atmosphere going and I am sure you will do fabulous.
Thanks for a nice afternoon..and nice timing on the rain! :).

My husband and I visited Gettysburg on September 11th, 2012 and took the Hickory Hollow Battlefield Horseback tour with Tasha (from Hickory Hollow), and Terry (licensed guide).  It was a fantastic way to see the battlefields and learn some history of the Civil War - we thoroughly enjoyed it!   Pam, you did a wonderful job sizing up riders to horses, and not just in "size" - but in temperament, handling, etc., and Tasha did a great job making sure every one was comfortable, safe, and enjoying our experience.  Terry - what a passionate presenter of the history,  as we traveled the fields and paths where it all took place.   With all the enthusiasm she poured out, we had to go home and rent the movie Gettysburg!

Thank you for a wonderful memory,
The O'Dea's

My husband and I were on the Battlefield horseback riding tour on Sept. 15. We both loved it and found everyone to be very professional. I would recommend this to everyone. I tried to get on your review page but my computer wouldn’t let me so if you want to cut and paste this comment, please do so.

Thank you again

Hi Pam,
My husband and I rode with your company on Saturday October 13 and I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed it. My husband works in the IT department at a major hospital. He's understaffed, over worked and under a lot of stress. The first thing he said in the car after our two hour battlefield tour was how relaxed he was. He loved that Ragedy Ann did most of the work, and he was somewhere he didn't have to worry about his cell phone or pager going off. I was a history major at college and loved our licensed battle field guide. Was it Terry? I'm awful with names. My husband and I both noticed when you had Tasha get off her horse so that little boy by the canons could sit on her and get his picture taken. We were both really touched by that gesture. There are a lot of business owners who wouldn't have bothered doing that. It pretty much cemented our future business for you. We really hope to get back down sometime in the next year to do a longer ride. We're raving about you guys to any of our friends and family who will listen to us. I'll also be posting a 5 star review on Trip Advisor.
Thanks for the great experience and we hope to ride with you again soon.
Sincerely,
Celeste and Jon Straub

Hi Pam.  I know you see lots of people every week, so if you don’t remember me I understand.   My husband and I just came to Gettysburg for our first anniversary / honeymoon and did a battlefield tour on the 9th of October.  I wanted to send an email and tell you what a great time I had.  I was excited to go on a horse before we got there, but once I saw the size of them, I got scared.  You completely put me at ease and put me on Spirit….   What a wonderful darling she is.  It was nice to have something in common with you, our boys being nearly the same age and all.  Seeing the battlefield from the perspective we did on the horseback tour really helped us view the battle better when we did the auto tour.    We definitely enjoyed our stay in Gettysburg and will Definitely be back again.  And when we do, you can bet we will be getting ahold of you for another tour.  Many people we know are interested in traveling to Gettysburg and I can only keep telling them to make sure they take your tour.

Hello Pam,

I wanted to say thank you to you and "Tasha".  The ride was pleasant, beautiful and a great first experience with horses for our children.  Tasha's daughter (only 4)! was a TRIP!  She had no problem keeping her horse in line and that really helped our daughter.  You were all so helpful, patient and your horses were simply fun.  Before our ride was done, we were thinking of when we could return for another, longer ride.
We went to TripAdvisor and posted there as well.
Bless you guys!

Hi, Pam:

Just a quick email to let you know how great the horseback battlefield tour was yesterday.  You and your whole team did a fantastic job of matching the right people with the right horses (no easy task since there were five in my little family unit), and I wanted to especially thank you for taking the time to make my VERY NERVOUS 14 year old daughter comfortable and at ease on her horse (Spirit).  She had an awesome time---we all did.  Also, please let Terry know that her expertise and detailed knowledge of the battle and events gave all of us new insight into the way the battle evolved, as well as the personal stories of the soldiers who fought there.  I've been to the battlefield on many occassions, but had never experienced it like this.  We will definitely be back, and will highly recommend you to our family and friends.  Thanks again.

The Grabs.
